Glacier, and Stoughton Area Jazz Collective

Here are two snippets of jazz information to share:

Madison’s own free jazz juggernaut Glacier now play every Wednesday, 8:30 pm at the newly renovated Dragonfly Lounge, in the basement of Bellini’s. 401 E. Washington Ave, Madison. Glacier is an improvisational music trio with Luke Polipnick on guitar, Ben Willis on bass and Geoffrey Brady on drums.

You might also want to know about the Stoughton Area Jazz Collective.  Approximately 16 people of various ages and playing various instruments participated. The next rehearsal is Tuesday, January 31, at Christ Lutheran Church in Stoughton, in the music room from 6:30-8 PM.  Craig Mason, the leader, has jazz fake books that were purchased and donated by someone who wishes to remain anonymous but who has said that they will continue to  support the collective.  The SAJC’s mission is to bring together people in the Stoughton area to play jazz music. Currently, there are members from Stoughton, Madison, De Forest and Spring Green. There is no limit on age or instrumentation, nor is it necessary to have a jazz background.  Members of the collective will determine the direction they wish to move and set rehearsals together.  Interested parties are encouraged to contact Craig Mason at stoughtonareajazz@gmail.com, or simply show up at our next rehearsal…bring a friend!
